About MeI am a follower of Jesus, the wife of one and a mother of five - two on earth and three in Heaven. That's important, because those relationships and the losses of three of our children during pregnancy have influenced me and my writing more than anything else.
My husband and I are the founders of Naomi's Circle, a ministry for parents who have lost babies during any stage of pregnancy or early infancy, especially in the Greater Columbia area of South Carolina. I regularly write there and on my personal blog, This Side of Heaven . I write a lot about issues that have sprung from our season of loss - walking through hard times, trusting God in the midst of tragedy, and drawing strength from the Scriptures. (am a contributing author for the book Sunshine After the Storm: A Survival Guide for Grieving Mothers and I am writing a children's book about loss, One in Heaven.) I also write about the joy and difficulty of the journey of Pregnancy After Loss, and I am a contributing editor for the e-book devotional, Rainbows and Redemption: Encouragement for the Journey of Pregnancy After Loss. On the lighter side, I write about the topics of motherhood, babywearing and cloth diapering, which I jumped into with my son, and about the journey of homeschooling, which we are just beginning with our daughter. In all of this, how to integrate my faith with my everyday life is an overarching theme and one I love to dialogue about with my readers! |
